Charon is the largest satellite of Pluto. It was discovered by the American astronomer James Christy in 1978, after warning that some images of the planet Pluto had seemed pear shaped.
In the picture we see three elements taxed remarkable morphology satellite:
1. round morphology suggests an impact crater and around the whitish coloration, the material raised by the impact.
2. You can see major topographic structures, result of tectonic or impact greater in very early stages of formation of the TV.
3. areas with darker colors that may indicate variations in mineralogical composition.
